Why do women prefer Sterilization ? - family planning

Although there are many factors, here are the main reasons :-

A woman may decide to be sterilized because she wants to prevent becoming pregnant accidentally or deliberately.

They may also choose sterilization if they have a history of certain medical problems that put them at increased risk for pregnancy.

What are the Complications of laparoscopic sterilizations?

Procedure for laparoscopic sterilizations/family planning

The surgery is done under general anesthesia. An incision (about 1 inch long) is made in the belly button (umbilicus). A small camera (laparoscope) with a light and surgical instruments (graspers) are inserted through this incision. The surgeon watches the screen of a monitor that has a magnified view of the inside of the uterus.

Small clips (called “sterilization knots”) are used to block or cut (or both) the fallopian tubes. This prevents eggs from being able to be fertilized by sperm.

The incision is closed with sutures (stitches).

A catheter may be placed in the bladder to drain any fluid that collects in the abdomen.
A tube may be placed in the umbilicus (belly button) to allow urine to pass off (waste material) out of the body.
